Oh Rio, Rio, and he earns a hundred grand (a week that is).
Well by jingo, loadsamoney England football player Rio Ferdinand, more akin to luxury cruises, yachts, and paradise islands has taken his family on a weekend caravan holiday at Prestatyn Sands.
Described as the “gateway to the North Wales coast”, where the “mountain air meets salty sea breezes,” the Haven owned park played host to the family Ferdinand in one of their top-of-the-range Prestige caravans, putting him back £400.
He was mobbed by children as he played in the park with his sons, and also had a go on the go-karting track at the park.
A Haven spokeswoman described how “affable” he was with the children, saying he “signed autographs, and then tried out the go-kart track.” Pondering why an internationally famous multi-millionaire would have chosen such a cheap option for a holiday the spokeswoman added: ““Perhaps he recognised that with two young children, people like to get a value-for-money family holiday and perhaps children are unimpressed by five-star hotels and would rather have go-karting.”
It’s good to see Rio backing the ‘staycation’ and the British Tourism industry. Now all he has to do is win the World Cup next year.
